THE MAN AND WHY HIS MUSIC

Min. SKS a.k.a. Shawn K. Sutton

Bio

Shawn Sutton, at 13 years old and seeking direction as many misguided
youths was invited to join a gang. Consequently, He became a member of
the Conservative Vice Lords. As a result of his gang affiliation at 17 years
old, he was facing 25 years to life. He realized his affiliation with the gangs
was not all that he thought it would be. He grew tired of the constant
violence and rotating bars. He begin to seek ways to end my life.
One day Shawn took several drugs and while holding a bolder he began
to beat himself in the head with the hopes of passing out. When that was
not successful he drove his car over an embankment. He can still hear the
paramedics as if it was yesterday stating “we’ve lost him.” With tears
flowing he began to realize that God had other plans for him. Philippians
1:9 declares, “He that began a good work in you is able to complete it until
the day of Jesus Christ.”
As he was standing in God’s presence he remember calling on the name
of Jesus, as he regained consciousness. Shawn feels that whoever,
believes that there is no life after death is sadly mistaken. For the rest of
his days he will declare that there is a God and He has redeeming power
as this was the 7th attempt to take his life and God speared him once
again. You would have thought that after experiencing this traumatic
experience, that he had reached his bottom.  Soon after Shawn’s near death experience he developed a $250 a day
dope habit for about 3 months. God begin to speak “Shawn enough is
enough”. He found himself searching for God and the things of God. He
needed God , to finally, fill the void he had been fueling with a life of drugs
and violence. Fast forwarding years later and with God as his guide God
has transformed his life in ways he could have never imagined. Now
Shawn have begun opening for Gospel Artists such as Mary Mary, Fred
Hammond, and Yolanda Adams.

Shawn’s story does not end there, but after experiencing the miracles of
God upon his life, one day while rehearsing the FBI comes crashing
through his window and shouting my name. They tied him up and was
held in a racist jail for 3 weeks. Shawn had no idea what was going on.
But he knew God was on his side. However; as it turns out, it was a case
of mistaken identity. Throughout Shawn’s trials he has come to believe
that God has a greater plan for his life. The Lord, states His plan for him
so clearly in Jeremiah 29:11, when He declares “I know the plans I have
for you, to give you hope and a future.”
Shawn thanks God for the hope He has provided to him. His life is forever
yielded to His service and sharing with others the redeeming power of
God.

The Mission

SKS mission is to spread the Gospel through Hip Hop music, throughout the
streets of his hometown Atlanta, Ga and everywhere an audience is willing to
receive him as an artist and his music. Also, Min. SKS desires to bridge the gap

between seasoned saints’ leaders and the new genera

on of evangelists to come

together to con

nue Kingdom work to lead the lost and the back-slider to the

throne of Grace.
